The Rest House was established in the year 2008 and is located in the lush green coniferous forests of Chitternar, neighboured by Historic Kashmir Forest Training School Chitternar. The climate of the area is pleasant in nature and generally remains cool in summers and very cold with Snowfall in winters. Visitors and nature lovers can make it a base camp for exploring the scenic sites of District Bandipora like Athwatoo, Trgabal Gurez, Shrines of Famous Kashmir Saints of Sultanul Aarifeen (R.A) at Aham sharief and Kunsar Afgani Sahab (R.A) at Arampora Bandipora, Sacred Grove of Bibi Roothi Behan (R.A) at Buthoo Bandipora which are just about 1-3 Km from Rest House.
